Reebee alternative

A Reebee alternative that plans the meals, not just the list

Reebee earned its following by being the tidiest flyer app in Canada — no clutter, fast browsing, a watch list for tracking prices over time, and loyalty cards in one place. It was acquired by Flipp’s parent company in 2022 and still runs as its own product.

Short answer

Reebee is a better pure flyer reader than Deal Dish, and its watch list is genuinely good. Deal Dish is the better choice if the part you find hard is deciding what to cook, not finding the sale.

What Reebee does well

Reebee’s interface is deliberately plain and it loads fast. The watch list — track an item and get told when it goes on sale — is a feature Deal Dish does not directly replicate, and for someone stocking a pantry around specific staples it is genuinely valuable.

Storing loyalty cards in the same app is a small thing that removes a real friction at the till, and Reebee has been on both iOS and Android for years.

The gap between a list and a plan

Reebee’s shopping list is a list you write. You read the flyer, you decide what you want, you type it in. That works, but it means the flyer only influences your groceries as much as your attention that week allows.

Deal Dish generates the list instead. It reads what dropped in price at your specific store, proposes meals built from those ingredients, and produces the shopping list as an output of the plan — grouped by aisle so the trip is shorter too. The difference shows up most on the weeks you are tired and would otherwise have defaulted to full price.

Checking the price behind the price

Both apps show you what the flyer advertises. Only one of them helps in the aisle: Deal Dish’s barcode scanner returns unit price, which is how you find out that the family-size box is worse value than two small ones, or that a product quietly shrank while its price held.

Deal Dish also displays the regular price beside the sale price on every item, so a "sale" that is really a return to normal pricing is visible as one.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Reebee still a separate app from Flipp?

Yes. Reebee was acquired by Flipp’s parent company in 2022 but continues to operate as its own product with its own app and interface.

Does Deal Dish have a watch list like Reebee?

Not in the same form. Deal Dish approaches it from the meal side — you set preferences and favourite ingredients during onboarding, and the app surfaces recipes when those ingredients go on sale, rather than pinging you about a single SKU.

Which is better for a big weekly shop?

Deal Dish, if the shop is for meals you have not planned yet — it produces the plan and the list together. Reebee, if you already know exactly what you buy every week and just want to check who has it cheapest.
