Planning the week from the sales: Deal Dish

Deal Dish shows this week’s prices at the stores you pick, from 35 Canadian banners and 3,500+ stores, with the regular price beside the sale price. Search any item to see its price at nearby stores, cheapest first.

It suggests recipes made from what is on sale, shows what each one costs, builds a list split by store with an aisle view, and tracks your savings and nutrition.

The limit: Deal Dish covers grocery stores only. It is free on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Flyer browsers: Flipp and Reebee

Both put local flyers in one searchable app, and both have a watch list, a shopping list, loyalty card storage and price matching at participating stores. Flipp covers more store types, including pharmacy, hardware and electronics.

Flashfood and FoodHero sell food close to its best-before date at a discount. You buy in the app and pick up in store. Flashfood runs in Loblaw stores at up to 50% off. FoodHero runs in Empire stores and in Metro stores in Québec and New Brunswick, at 50% off or up to 60% in Québec.

PC Optimum is the loyalty program for Loblaw banners and Shoppers Drug Mart, and 10,000 points are worth $10. Its personalised offers can change which store is cheapest in a given week, so read them alongside the flyer.
